AI Tariff Loading (Tariffs → AI Tariff Loading) is the page inside Freightools for turning a supplier's rate sheet into loaded tariffs with AI — "Upload rate sheets or forward by email to automatically extract and validate tariff data". It replaced the AI Service Testing page: if you used to go to AI Service Testing to load a rate sheet, that page is gone, and AI Tariff Loading is where that job is done now. This article tells you what the page is for and where its loading log fits; the step-by-step of a load — choosing the charges, reviewing the lanes, creating the agreements — is in the AI Studio articles linked below.
Before you start
- Have the supplier's rate sheet as a file. Which file types a load accepts is in Add your rate sheet and choose how to load it.
- Know who the rates are from and what they cover: the supplier, the service, and the charges you want loaded. See Set up a load: supplier, service and route and Choose the charges to load (the checklist).
What AI Tariff Loading does
AI Tariff Loading is built around one job: a rate sheet goes in, and loaded tariffs come out. In the Upload Files card you drop the rate sheet or click Choose Files (the Files tab), or paste the rates on the Text tab, then click Process Files; the AI extracts the tariff data and validates what it found, and you check the result before anything is created in Freightools. The two buttons at the top of the page take you to Buying Agreements and to Manage Spot Rates Integrations.
Rate sheets can also reach Freightools by email. The Forward by Email card — "Automatic processing from inbox" — shows the address to forward your suppliers' rate sheets to, with How it works beside it, and Email Processing Status reports the last email received, the last processed and any errors. Set up a forwarding rule in your inbox to that address and sheets are processed as they arrive.
Nothing is written to your buying agreements until you create them yourself from the reviewed result. How that review works — which lanes are ready, which need fixing, and what the markers on a lane mean — is in Review your results.
Read the loading log
The Live Processing Timeline at the bottom of the page lists your active and recent runs ("No active or recent jobs found." until the first one). Each run leaves a loading log, and the log reflects exactly what the run created. Use it to check a run's outcome: the agreements it lists as created are the agreements that exist in Freightools after the run. A run that created agreements does not report that nothing was created.
What the creation screen itself shows — created counts, lanes that could not be created and why — is described in Create your agreements in Freightools.
The engine behind the page is called Tari. Settings → AI Automations → Tari configuration ("Tari - AI tariff loading engine") shows your MONTHLY CREDITS, USED CREDITS, REMAINING, SUCCESS RATE, TOTAL RUNS and AGREEMENTS CREATED, and the Tari Workflows table — one row per workflow with its PROVIDER, MODEL, CONNECTED EMAIL, RUNS, SUCCESS, FAILED and AGREEMENTS.

If something goes wrong
| You see | What to do |
|---|---|
| You are looking for AI Service Testing and cannot find it | The page has been replaced by AI Tariff Loading. Use that page for rate-sheet loading. |
| The loading log lists fewer agreements than your sheet has lanes | Open the run's result and the review screen: lanes that still need fixing are not created until you fix them and create again. See Create your agreements in Freightools. |
| The Forward by Email card shows no address, or Email Processing Status stays empty | No tariff inbox is connected for your company yet. Ask your Freightools administrator; the connected mailbox is listed under CONNECTED EMAIL on Tari configuration. |
| The AI did not read a file, or read it wrongly | See Troubleshooting and frequently asked questions for file limits and the markers the review shows. |
