How it works

Plan an optimal container or truck load in three steps.

  1. 01

    Choose your container or truck

Pick a standard preset (20ft, 40ft, 40ft HC, 45ft or a truck) or enter custom inner dimensions and max payload.

  2. 02

    Add your cargo

List each cargo type with its dimensions, weight and quantity, and flag whether items are stackable or fragile.

  3. 03

Calculate and review the 3D plan

Get an interactive 3D load plan with the volume and payload fill rate, the loading order and per-item placement you can rotate, zoom and share.

Frequently asked questions

How many pallets fit in a 20ft or 40ft container?+

It depends on pallet size, stacking and weight limits. Enter your pallet dimensions, weight and quantity and the calculator shows exactly how many fit and how they should be arranged in 3D.

Is the load calculator free?+

Yes. The 3D container load calculator is free to use with no signup. Saving, printing, exporting and multi-container optimization unlock with a work email.

What container and truck types are supported?+

Standard presets include 20ft, 40ft, 40ft High Cube and 45ft containers plus common road trailers, and you can enter any custom inner dimensions and payload.

Does it account for weight and stacking?+

Yes. You set a maximum payload per container and mark items as stackable or fragile, and the plan reports both the volume fill and the payload used.

Can I use this in my own software?+

Freightools offers load and rate optimization to partners via API on request. Use the “Request API access” option and our team will follow up.
