How to create and manage leads

Create a lead with its owner, pipeline status, primary contact and company details, then use the owner filters, saved views and pipeline stages in the Leads workspace to work through them.

Updated 9/16/2026

A lead is a prospect you are working on before it becomes a customer. It carries an owner, a
pipeline status, one contact person and the company's details, and everything you do with it —
calls, meetings, quotes — hangs off that record.

Create a lead

  1. Open Partners and select Leads.
  2. Click Create New Lead.
  3. Fill in Lead Information:
    • Lead Owner — required. The user responsible for this lead.
    • Lead Status — required. The pipeline stage the lead starts in.
    • Lead Source — optional. Set it if you know where the lead came from.
